Dear Friends and Neighbours,

This month, the City will be commemorating one year in the ongoing fight against COVID-19. It has been a long and challenging road, but we are finally beginning to see the rollout of vaccines and the light at the end of the tunnel. Immunization has started for eligible individuals based on provincial prioritization guidance. Those currently eligible for vaccines are:

• People who are 80 years of age and older (born in 1941 or before)

• Health care workers in Highest Priority and Very High Priority risk groups

• Indigenous Adults (16 years of age or older)

• Adults receiving chronic home care

The Humber River Hospital (located at 1235 Wilson Ave, just north of HWY 401) is vaccinating eligible residents. For more information on who is eligible and how to register, please see below.

I understand that the hospital is experiencing a very high level of call and registration volumes and that some residents are frustrated by difficulties getting through. I encourage residents to remain patient as this process has only begun and the demand is so high.

Beginning this Friday, eligible residents will be able to register for vaccination at one of the City's three mass immunization clinics. More about this is available below.
