Dear Friends and Neighbours,
I, like many of you, am extremely frustrated by the rollout of the COVID-19 vaccine, particularly in our community which has been designated a hotspot. Currently, residents age 50 and older living in COVID-19 hot spot postal codes, which include all of Ward 5, can book vaccination appointments at City-operated immunization clinics. Residents age 60 and older can book appointments regardless of where they live in Toronto. More information and a list of the hot spot locations is available online. You can book your appointment at one of the City's vaccination clinics here. The City of Toronto has created a vaccine eligibility chart to assist with clarifying eligibility stages and registration questions. Find it here. I will share information regarding pop-up clinics for those 18+ as soon as it becomes available. In the meantime, the following continue to vaccinate residents 50+ in our area: 1. West Park Healthcare Centre (82 Buttonwood Ave) is currently vaccinating residents 50+ whose postal codes begin with (covers all of York South-Weston) and plan to open a second vaccination clinic at The Community Place Hub (1765 Weston Road) next week. Appointments will be made available for booking later this week so please check their website regularly. They are vaccinating residents whose postal codes begin with: M6L; M6M; M9N; and M6N. 2. St. Joseph's Health Centre (30 The Queensway) is vaccinating residents 50+ whose postal code begins with M6N. More info on their website. 3. Humber River Hospital (Downsview Arena at 1633 Wilson Ave) is vaccinating residents 50+ who live in their catchment area South of Steeles Ave / North of Eglinton Ave / East of Humber River / West of Bathurst Street. More info on their website.
4. Local pharmacies continue to vaccinate those 55+. Click here for the list of pharmacies providing vaccines in Ward 5. Finally, the Province of Ontario is working with employers interested in setting up on-site vaccination clinics. For more information click here. I will send out updated information as it becomes available.
Sincerely,
Frances
