Dear Friends and Neighbours,
I am very pleased to announce that we are finally getting a permanent COVID-19 Assessment Centre in York South-Weston!
Since the City released data that demonstrated our community has elevated numbers of COVID-19 cases, I have been advocating for the need to have permanent testing capacity in our community to municipal and provincial Health Officials.
It has been confirmed today that the Assessment Centre will open at the Humber River Hospital site on Church Street (200 Church St). Renovations are underway, and the goal is have the space ready and open to the public on September 28 at 10 AM. I've attached some photos of the renovation process below.
We are currently seeing an increase in COVID-19 cases across our City. I would like to once again remind everyone that the best way to protect yourself and those around you is to wear a mask, wash or sanitize your hands frequently, avoid touching your face, and maintain physical distance from others.
Sincerely,
Frances
