Dear Friends and Neighbours,
Last Monday marked the one-year anniversary of the first reported COVID-19 case in Ontario. It is pretty staggering to think that we have been living with this pandemic for a year and that life still hasn't returned to normal.
With news of cases of the B117 variant (UK) of COVID-19 confirmed in Toronto, it is now more important than ever to follow Public Health guidelines on how to protect ourselves and others from the virus.
I'd like to thank everyone who has been doing their best to help slow the spread of COVID-19. I know it hasn't been easy. Despite recent reports of temporary reduced inventory of the Pfizer vaccine, there remains a light at the end of the tunnel that widespread immunization can likely happen before the end of the year. I certainly can't wait to get back to community events!
Today, January 27, is International Holocaust Remembrance Day and marks 76 years since Allied troops arrived at the gates of Auschwitz. We must always remember the past in order to build a better future.
Sincerely,
Frances
