Dear Friends and Neighbours,

Tomorrow is Remembrance Day. Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there will be no public gatherings.

This year is of particular significance as 2020 marks 75 years since the end of the Second World War and November 11, 2020 marks 100 years of Remembrance in Toronto.

I would like to encourage everyone to take a personal moment tomorrow to commemorate those who have sacrificed their lives for our country. Wear a poppy, pause for two minutes of silence at 11 AM, or check out the City's Veteran Memories page and listen to stories from some of our Second World War veterans.

Let us honour our veterans and those who have served and continue to serve in the Canadian Armed Forces.

Sincerely,

Frances
